Laura created a brand and design system to support the launch of an all-new strategic grant-making approach at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Within 36 hours from concept to launch, design assets were produced and delivered to in-house teams to build out broader campaign elements. The designs were expanded into live event activations, signage, websites, promotional materials, presentations, and attendee gifts – leaving a lasting impression with the Foundation’s stakeholders.

‘Takes Heart’ Nod and Local Meaning
At the foundation’s request, the concept included a geometric heart and nod to the ‘Takes Heart’ artwork they acquired. The design represents the heart of the foundation and Kansas City united in the foundation’s three grant-making focus areas.

With clear creative direction from Laura, the assets were expanded across media and activation types, including interactive experiences, booth design, signage, events, promotional gifts, and beyond. The design system continues to serve the organization more than one year later.
